Information skill sessions for Foundation students

The library has successfully run 4 Information skill classes for Foundation students who need academic skills to "survive" in the university life. They need not only Writing, Presentation, Language skills and Science knowledge, but Information skills as well. Information skills enable them to find, evaluate and use information effectively and ethically.

The library staff is delivering the Information skill content

Many students of FA, BA, CS and ME attended the sessions and acquire useful knowledge of how to:

  • Search library catalog and databases effectively
  • Evaluate information resources
  • Use citation and referencing skills, especially the software for managing citing information.

We look forward to conducting the similar sessions for other groups of students, eg. postgraduate students.
