[WORKSHOP] Digital literacy and Information literacy programs at SMU, RMIT and VGU

Dear esteemed colleagues,

The development of technology increasingly requires libraries to update their skills and knowledge to meet the growing demands of users in the new era. Therefore, effectively building Digital Information Literacy Programs is an urgent necessity for libraries.

As part of the commitment to enhance academic quality and promote research innovation, the Library of the Vietnamese-German University (VGU), in collaboration with the Library of Singapore Management University (SMU) and RMIT University, is organizing the workshop “Digital Literacy and Information Literacy Programs at SMU, RMIT, and VGU: Learning Discovery, Practices, and Experience”. The workshop will feature a keynote presentation by Mr. Rajendra Munoo, Head of Learning and User Training at SMU, who will share his extensive experience on Digital Information Literacy and the implementation of such programs at SMU. Additionally, library colleagues from VGU and RMIT will present on effective and professional Information Literacy Programs currently being implemented at both universities. Through this workshop, we aim to strengthen research support services, equip users with information skills in the digital and AI era, and foster collaboration and professional exchange among library colleagues in Vietnam and with SMU.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
a) know the recent trends and developments in information and digital literacy programmes
b) review existing programmes drawing upon best practices
c) identify engagement strategies to promote information literacy programmes
d) understand how to design and implement effective research strategies using AI tools
e) develop essential academic skills through interactive and engaging online courses
