Book Review: shaping the reading community

Dominance of advanced technologies cannot replace our happy reading. “Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary” – Jim Rohn. Yes, we have organized a Book Review Contest to not only celebrate the Vietnamese Book and Reading Culture Day 21 April and the World Book Day 23 April but more importantly we would like to promote reading culture at VGU to inspire good books for good sharing and good minds. We honorably had a very special and inspiring author who is also our University Council member, Mr. Vo Quang Hue, brought and shared his great book “Dặm Đường Tôi Đi (probably translated as My Journey)” with his extensive experience in his profession and life journey to energize and inspire us for a good change of learning and exchange.

After deliberate decision via three evaluation channels, including Evaluation Committee, Facebook vote and Book Review Contest Final vote, we would like to congratulate our book lovers on their great contribution and efforts to bring great books to our Book Review Contest 2024! It is not only the prizes they got, but the values and their actions to promote reading culture and knowledge sharing is invaluable for VGUers. It is one of our bricks to build and shape the reading community at VGU.

We are happy to congratulate the winners on these prizes:

🌻First prize: Think Again by Mai Thị Yến Nhi

🌻 Second prize: The Three-Body Problem by Lê Trần Tú Uyên

🌻Third prize: Wolf’s Children by Nguyễn Tuấn Anh

🌻Consolation prize: Flowers for Algernon by Nguyễn Thành Đạt

🌻Consolation prize: Chú Chó Gác Sao by Nguyễn Ngọc Anh Thư

We hope to continue receiving our users’ cooperation and support in the future for reading community development.
